As per the latest reports, Harry Kane gave his approval for a move to Bayern Munich this summer on Wednesday. The decision came after the striker had a meeting with the club’s manager Thomas Tuchel. Bayern had bid €60m for the bid which was immediately rejected by his current employers Tottenham Hotspur.
However, now, the Bavarian giants are reportedly preparing a new bid for the player which could increase to around €80m. However, Tottenham want at least around €100m for the player who is their record goalscorer. The situation is complicated as Kane has only one year remaining in his contract. But according to some reports, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is prepared to risk letting the striker go for free rather than letting them get low-balled in price.
In his meeting with Thomas Tuchel, Kane expressed his desire to win the Champions League title with the club. The player hasn’t won any silverware in his career which might hamper his legacy in the future. A Champions League trophy could whitewash this as it is the most coveted trophy in club football right now.
However, if Kane joins Bayern Munich this summer, he might have to forego his hunt to become the highest goalscorer in Premier League history. He is 47 goals away from Alan Shearer’s record of 260 goals. The record could solidify him as the greatest striker to play in the league. If he joins the German champions that won’t be possible.
The ideal situation for him, as per many pundits, would have been for him to join Manchester City two years ago when they bid for the player two years ago. However, Bayern Munich seems the only realistic option this window as City has Erling Haaland now and Manchester United doesn’t have finances this summer.

Former Spurs midfielder claims that Manchester United is the only option for Harry Kane

While links with Bayern Munich persist to continue, Harry Kane has been told that the move will not be a good idea. Former Spurs midfielder Jermaine Jenas has proclaimed that Manchester United is his only realistic option.
The former Spurs player said, “Harry has got himself into a situation where he’s almost causing himself his own problem. It’s obviously important to him to be the Premier League’s top goal scorer,” “He’s come so far and he’s only about 50-odd goals away. If he moves and stays in the Prem, he can’t go to Arsenal. Chelsea would bite their hand off but Daniel Levy’s never gonna deal with Chelsea again after the whole Hazard and Willian situation which is why you don’t see that transaction happen anymore.
“Liverpool have got [Darwin] Nunez and City have got [Erling] Haaland. So Manchester United is his only option!” Any move to the English Giants however might have to wait for their impending takeover by Qatar as FFP regulations will not allow them to spend more than 100m without sales. The other option for the English striker is to stay another year at Spurs and leave for free next season.
