Harry Kane recently revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo is his ‘Footballing Idol’. The Bayern Munich #9 has been tearing it up in the Bundesliga since his move from Tottenham in the summer transfer window. The Englishman already has 9 goals and 5 assists in 9 games for the club. His fantastic start to the season was heavily anticipated, and the striker is living up to his reputation.
Speaking in an interview, Kane revealed information on his Footballing Idols and role models. The 30-year-old named Cristiano Ronaldo as his Idol. He pointed out the ‘hard work and passion’ that he exhibits in every game, even though the player has ‘won everything’. Kane also admitted that he watched Cristiano, growing up.
Surprisingly, Harry Kane also said, “I pretend to be him in the training sessions sometimes.” He recollected an incident where the player asked for Ronaldo’s Jersey. “I nervously asked for his shirt.” Luckily, Kane got his wish granted and said that it was a “precious shirt and frame” to get. With a laugh, Kane added, “I don’t know what he’ll do with my shirt though.”
Cristiano Ronaldo reveals retirement plans to Al-Nassr and Portugal
As per reports, Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a decision on his career. The player has informed Al-Nassr and Portugal of his plans. The 38-year-old is in top form this season and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down as of yet. The veteran has scored 11 goals and 6 assists for the Saudi club this season. His long-term goals shine a light on possible retirement plans.
As per reports, the Portuguese is set to play for at least 3 more seasons. It is understood that Cristiano is willing to extend until 2027 with the club. This means that he will be in contention to compete for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Ronaldo saw his biggest rival, Lionel Messi, lift the coveted trophy in Qatar. The upcoming World Cup is co-hosted by the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
It was previously believed that Cristiano would hang up his boots after the European Cup in 2024. However, as per the latest reports, fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Moreover, Cristiano is physically at the highest level possible, and unless faced with any unforeseen challenges, will continue to perform at the highest level.
