A brace in Bayern Munich‘s latest fixture against Galatasaray has seen the England international, Harry Kane being awarded ‘Man of the Match’. This brings his goal tally to four goals in the Champions League this season.
Two goals in six minutes saw the England captain lead Bayern Munich to yet another win in their group-stage fixture, helping his new team maintain a perfect record with four wins out of four. While the opener was a header from a set-piece cross into the box, by Harry Kane in the 80th minute, the second goal came just a few moments later as a well-worked goal saw Kane tap in a searching ball from 18-year-old, Mathys Tel. Galatasaray managed to get a goal back, but the spoils remained in Germany as Bayern ran out 2-1 winners on the night.
Yet another great night for Harry Kane, who has proved to be worth every penny Bayern spent on the 30-year-old. With 19 goals in 15 appearances in all competitions, the striker has dazzled even the Bayern fans. While many knew how good the player was, only some realized his world-class quality.
Kane has already broken the record for most goals in the first 10 Bundesliga appearances with 15 goals. Fans have now shown their faith that he is also capable of breaking Robert Lewandowski‘s Bundesliga season record which is currently at 41.
With the group stages for Bayern Munich done and dusted, Harry Kane can now look forward to adding more to his goal tally as Bayern take on FC Heidenheim right before the international break.
Twitter reacts to Harry Kane’s MOTM Award performance
With Harry Kane being pictured with his latest ‘Man of the Match’ trophy, fans on ‘X’ have been raving over the player’s recent run of form with many claiming if the player can continue his run of form, he could be a contender for the Ballon d’Or.
Here are some of the reactions:
Harry Kane has won many awards, but he hasn’t won a trophy yet. Bayern hasn’t lost a Bundesliga title since 2013, and they might win the Champions League. This could help Kane end his trophy drought. Plus, the 2024 UEFA EURO is coming up, and if he wins a national title, he could become a top candidate for the Ballon d’Or. Michael Owen was the last Englishman to win it in 2001 while playing for Liverpool.
