Has Carlo Ancelotti already agreed to become Brazil’s National team manager after 2022-23 season?
Carlo Ancelotti denied all rumors but the speculations remain
According to a rather bizarre rumour, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti was linked with a move to manage the Brazil national team on Friday. Earlier on the day, ESPN Brazil announced that Carlo Ancelotti has been given the green light to become the coach of Brazil. However, later, it turned out to be false as the coach himself said that he knows nothing about it.
Carlo Ancelotti has denied all claims of him joining the South American giants. He said, “I have a contract until 2024, I don’t know what they say over there, I am not bothered.”
The Brazilian federation is considering Carlo Ancelotti, nicknamed “Don Carlo” by his fans, as a top candidate to replace Tite after their World Cup exit. Along with Luis Enrique from Spain, Ancelotti is a strong contender, and some sources are mentioning Zinedine Zidane as a possibility as well.
CBF Statement
CBF, Brazil’s football governing body, has also debunked the claims in a statement. It said, “The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) informs that the news released this Friday (10/02) that the coach of Real Madrid, Italian Carlo Ancelotti, is the new coach of the Brazilian national team is unfounded.“
The federation went on to confirm that once a coach is selected, it will notify the followers. “President Ednaldo Rodrigues maintains the statements given on Wednesday after the drawing of the matches for the Copa do Brasil. At the time, the official ruled out speculation, saying that the matter is dealt with transparently and that the coach chosen will be announced at the right time,” the statement read.
Ancelotti on the Club World Cup Final vs Al-Hilal
The four-time UEFA Champions League winner is currently preparing for the Club World Cup final against Al-Hilal. The Qatari outfit has sent Flamengo packing in the Semis and will look to cause another upset this week.
Talking about their opponents in the presser, Ancelotti said, “Real Madrid respect all the Finals, it’s been a long path and I’ve asked my players to enjoy the game. Tomorrow’s winner will become World Champion and we want to win to boost our confidence for the future. It’s my sixth Final in 40 years, a game that doesn’t happen many times in life.”
Al-Hilal fields former European players such as Luciano Vietto and Odion Ighalo. Additionally, the Blue Waves will feature Saudi international Salem Aldawsari, who shone for his national team during the World Cup.
