Liverpool reduced the gap with just one point with the table topper Manchester City as they won the Merseyside derby against Everton. Andrew Robertson and Divock Origi net one goal each to give Liverpool a win as they chase the title race at Anfield on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Everton is on the verge of getting relegated from the Premier League as they are currently at the 18th spot, two points behind Burnley. Liverpool now heads on to the mid-week Champions League first leg semi-final encounter with Villarreal and continues their dream for the quadruple.

Liverpool stays at the second position behind Manchester City with a difference of only one point and five games in hand for both the teams. Manchester City and Liverpool will have their champions league semifinal clash in the midweek as they both eye for these two possible titles. Robertson and Origi both scored for Klopp’s side as they win 2-0 and Everton tastes the relegation zone after hitting the 18th position.
Divock Origi now has six goals against Everton which is the highest for the player against any club. He nets the second for the Merseyside from an acrobatic assist by Luis Diaz. Origi has made it a habit of scoring each time he meets Everton as his goal was the winning goal that took Liverpool to the second spot.
What’s next for Liverpool and Everton?
Liverpool defeated Everton 2-0 to reduce their gap with Manchester City as they stay in the race for the Premier League title. Klopp’s side will now face Villarreal in midweek in the champions league semi-final stage. Liverpool is now one step closer to achieving their dream of winning the quadruple this season.
