Thomas Tuchel and Todd Boehly

Before being fired on Wednesday morning, Thomas Tuchel came at Chelsea’s training facility and discovered it to be “deserted.” The 49-year-relationship old’s with American owner Todd Boehly is rumoured to have been strained, and Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League loss to Dinamo Zagreb was the breaking point.

The source claims that Thomas Tuchel showed up for training at Cobham as usual before being called into a meeting with Blues executives, including chairman Boehly. After three losses in the first month of the season, Tuchel went on to say that it would take time for Chelsea to turn their season around.

Following the outcome from the previous evening, the board informed Tuchel that he would lose his position. Tuchel was reportedly given 10 minutes to pack his belongings during the call. Despite the seeming abruptness of the dismissal, the 49-year-old was privately anticipating it last week.

According to sources, Thomas Tuchel objected to the new owner’s desire to manage every facet of the team off the field. They clarified: “The brand-new owners aim to do it all. If possible, they want to hire coaches and buy the players.”

Chelsea spent little over £255 million on eight new players during the transfer period. A move for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo was one of the points of disagreement. In 2021, Tuchel won the Champions League and was well-liked by his fans, whom he also adored.

Even as recently as last month, negotiations for a new contract were planned, but they were postponed due to communication issues. Players like Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech are rumoured to have lost interest in life at Stamford Bridge.

According to reports, Pulisic complained out loud about being used inappropriately before the World Cup this winter while representing the USA on international duty. Ziyech cut a dejected figure in Croatia in the meanwhile. In the summer, both players made an effort to move out but were unsuccessful. Graham Potter, the manager of Brighton and Hove Albion, is now the front-runner in the ongoing search for a new manager. After the defending world champions said they were prepared to pay his release clause, Brighton gave Potter permission to talk with Chelsea.
