“He’s an extremely good-looking boy and a decent player as well”- Jurgen Klopp on Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez

In a recent press conference, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp confessed his affection for Benfica’s “extremely good looking” Darwin Nunez. With the ability to play on the left-wing as well as centrally, Nunez is one of Europe’s most coveted goalscorers, and following his side’s quarter-final first-leg defeat, he has certainly caught the eye of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.
“He’s an extremely good-looking boy, huh?” Klopp joked in the Champions League press conference. “And a decent player as well. Really good, really good. I knew before, of course, but he played pretty much in front of me with his tough battles with Ibrahima Konate.”
Klopp also hailed Nunez’s physical strength and predicted that the 22-year-old striker has a “big career” ahead of him.
“He was physically strong, quick, was calm around his finish. Good, really good. I always say in these situations if he is healthy, it’s a big career ahead of him,” added the German coach.
Jurgen Klopp claims that Darwin Nunez is currently not a part of his project at Liverpool

While speaking to the press ahead of the match, Klopp also admitted his defense will be facing a top striker in the form of the Uruguayan player.
“But, yes, he’s a good striker. The next one from Uruguay, I don’t know how they play together Cavani, Suarez, and him. In one team, that’s probably a challenge as well to put that in place. But, it’s a top, top boy,” mentioned Klopp.
“Yes, the goals he scored, obviously the one against Ajax at Amsterdam was massive, a big one. Yes, in the group stage as well. So, he is not shy. He did now not start the last game, he came on at half-time because of coming back from international duty, so we expect him to start tomorrow,” concluded the Liverpool supremo.
Whilst Klopp was full of praise for the 22-year-old, he was keen to acknowledge the strength of the Benfica team and called out some other notable individuals for praise including some former Premier League players. However, he later clarified that Liverpool is currently not looking forward to buying the Uruguayan sensation. Nunez is currently linked with Manchester United as they seek to find a replacement for Edison Cavani and Cristiano Ronaldo.
