“He’s been a distraction for everyone at Manchester United”- Lionel Messi would’ve never acted like Cristiano Ronaldo, feels former football player
Lionel Messi of PSG and Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United
Manchester United star Paul Ince came up with criticisms against Cristiano Ronaldo. He was questioned about his recent behaviour in the dressing room and inside the field. Ince stresses the point that Ronaldo has to leave the team before the transfer window closes this season.
He said, “Ronaldo has to leave Man United. If he was in the United dressing room when I was playing with the likes of Roy Keane and Steve Bruce, we wouldn’t be putting up with him and he wouldn’t be getting away with anything,“. He also added that during his time this behaviour would not have been tolerated.
He then added, “Leaving Ronaldo out of the starting 11 (against Liverpool) was so important, because it shows people that there can be life without Ronaldo. He’s been a distraction for everyone at Man United. You wouldn’t see Lionel Messi acting the way he has at times.”
Ince emphasized the fact that Messi wouldn’t behave this way. Ronaldo is undoubtedly one of the best players the world has ever seen. But him being out of form this season has opened doors to many criticisms and comparisons. Eric ten Hag’s call to not include him in the team last game also added to the tension.
