In a recent interview with Piers Morgan, Wayne Rooney was disparaged by his former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo. When Rooney criticized the Portuguese star for his actions at the Manchester club, Ronaldo referred to the former striker as a “rat” and called him out for his appearance. Rooney is also the record goal scorer for both Manchester United and England.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s words were offensive and have drawn widespread condemnation ever since. However, Rooney responded maturely to the foul statements after they were made in an effort to deflect attention from the subject.

Rooney was questioned on Thursday after winning the Player Career Award at the 2022 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai about Cristiano Ronaldo’s shocking remarks.

“Obviously, he has done an interview and it has gone global. Bit strange, some of the comments are strange but I’m sure Manchester United will deal with it once they have seen the full interview and they’ll take whatever action they need to take.”
