“How are you doing with the theme of the Super League?” – Malmo FF hits back at Real Madrid after getting trolled on Twitter

Malmo hit back at Real Madrid after twitter post

On December 9, 2015, Real Madrid defeated Malmo in the Champions League by a score of 8-0. Thanks to a goal from Cristiano Ronaldo and a hat-trick from Karim Benzema, the tournament’s largest victory was equaled.

In honor of the anniversary of the white team’s huge win to Malmo FF at the Bernabéu in the Champions League, the Real Madrid Twitter handle shared a compilation video and tagged Malmo FF. The Sweden side quickly trolled Real Madrid targeting Club President Florentino Perez’s Super League plan.

Real Madrid was mocked by Malmo on social media after the Spanish club tweeted about their historic victory over the Swedish team in the Champions League. Having felt that Real Madrid was recalling a humiliating incident for the sky blues, they strived to react by quoting a tweet that referenced Florentino Pérez’s failed attempt to activate the Super League: “Thank you for tagging us. How are you doing with the theme of the Super League?

Real Madrid vs Malmo

In 2007, Rafael Benitez oversaw Liverpool’s 8-0 victory over Beşiktaş, and he repeated it when he was in the power at Real Madrid eight years afterward. The Spanish manager was indeed in charge of masterminding both of the explicitly largest Champions League victories in history.

Seven of Real Madrid’s goals were scored by Cristiano Ronaldo (four) and Karim Benzema (three), making this the only UCL match in which two separate players each achieved a hat-trick. Ronaldo scored 16 goals in 2015–16, which was only surpassed by his own attempt in 2013–14. That season, he set a Champions League record with 11 goals in the group stage alone (17).

This loss of Malmo was followed by a 4-0 loss to Shakhtar Donetsk and a 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain. Overall, they conceded 21 goals in 2015-16, which was the fifth-highest total for a squad in a UEFA Champions League group stage campaign. Real Madrid proceeded to win the Champions League final in 2015-16 after defeating Atlético Madrid in a penalty shootout in Cardiff.
