Barcelona’s Martin Braithwaite is a footballer who’s never been one of the highest-paid players in the world. He doesn’t even carry a high brand image or endorses any major brands across Europe.
However, the Danish attacker is still one of the richest footballers in the world. In fact, according to Forbes, per Marca, Braithwaite became Barcelona’s richest footballer in 2021, when Lionel Messi left the club to sign for PSG.
The player has so much wealth that he could even help Barcelona with their debt if he wished to. But how did the 31-year-old get so much wealth over the years?

Martin Braithwaite’s rise from the second division to Barcelona’s richest player
In 2019, Barcelona was playing the EFL Championship in England for Middlesbrough. After a disappointing stint in England, he forced a move to Spain and ended up at Leganes. Fast forward a year and Martin Braithwaite was playing alongside Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.
However, it was not through his €77,000/week wages at Camp Nou that helped him get so rich. Martin Braithwaite become of the biggest realtors through his investment in a company called NYSE Companies.
The Danish player invested $850,000 in the company when it was valued at $10 million. As of 2022, the company is valued at $300 million. In fact, Danish outlet B.T. reported they had 1,500 apartments and 500 more under development.
Additionally, the player also owns a successful clothing brand with his partner called ‘Trente’ and a restaurant in Barcelona. While Braithwaite hasn’t had the most illustrious career on the pitch, he has surely succeeded off the pitch to lead a luxurious life after football.
Since his move to Barcelona, Braithwaite has managed just 58 appearances for the Blaugrana. In those games, he scored 10 goals and assisted 5. However, the player could be on the way this summer and Barcelona make room for new signings.
