The French professional footballer and now a Barcelona player Jules Kounde has trolled Chelsea brutally through his Instagram story over their loss to Dinamo Zagreb 1-0, in the Champions League group stage. The star defender wrote on his story and said, “I almost joined them.” with laughing emoticons.
It is true that the player was nearly about to join the blues after their €55m bid for the player which at that time looked interesting to the player.
After losing to a team like Dinamo, the Blues have not really nailed it in the Champions League, the struggle in the Premier League could have been the reason, but after such transfers like Sterling and Aubameyang, it wasn’t up the notch that was expected out of them.
The reasons why Jules Kounde ditched Chelsea for Barcelona
Jules Kounde was about to sign with the Blues when the Spanish giants snatched him up by agreeing to a four-year agreement worth €50 million, plus up to €10 million in add-ons. The defender admitted that manager Xavi was a major factor in his decision because he admired the Spaniard’s footballing philosophy.
“Barca is still a club able to attract anyone, and the manager was very important too. He gave me a lot of confidence and I liked his way of approaching football. It was an easy choice for me because he gave me all that I was looking for,” he stated.
Jules Kounde after the influence he faced from Xavi at Barcelona is quite happy at the club, and looking forward to more, trolling the blues could be one thing, and proving your worth entirely at the Catalan club is another.
