“I don’t think you can be the manager of Austria and work for Manchester United”- Jamie Carragher slams Ralf Rangnick

Sky Sports pundit and Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, doesn’t agree with Ralf Rangnick’s appointment as Austrian’s Football National team’s boss while continuing in his Manchester United consultancy role until 2024. He stated that it’s wrong and “complete nonsense” that Ralf Rangnick will be working ‘part-time’ at Manchester United.
“He’s a director of football, he’s someone who probably helps the coaches or builds the club. That’s the talk about the role he’s in and I’ll be honest with you, I just don’t get that,” said Carragher.
“I don’t think you can be the manager of Austria and work for Man United. That’s wrong, that should be happening. The manager of Austria should not be working part-time at Man United, that’s nonsense. It should be one or the other.” added the former Liverpool player.
Rangnick’s spell in charge of the club as an interim boss will come to an end later this month when current Ajax manager Erik ten Hag arrives and Rangnick moves into a consultancy role at the club. Last week, it was announced that Rangnick will also take charge of the Austrian men’s national team on a full-time basis despite still working in a consultancy role at United.
Erik ten Hag will have a huge role to play in Manchester United’s rebuilding process

Dutch manager Erik Ten Hag is set to take over the reign of Manchester United from interim boss Ralf Rangnick before the start of next season. He has a big task in hand as United will require a complete squad overhaul to keep up with ten Hag style of play.
He has to find adequate replacements for players such as Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, and Jesse Lingard whose contracts are up in the summer. In addition, the Dutch manager has to sign new strikers, especially when Edison Cavani is expected to leave the club and Cristiano Ronaldo’s availability is also in question.
Manchester United is currently sixth in the points table of the Premier League 2021-22. It is for the fifth consecutive season that the Red Devils will end their season trophyless.
