“I had a nightmare”- When Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw a dream in which Cristiano Ronaldo was better than him

In an interview with the Romanian website Costin Desliu, former Romanian international Adrian Mutu told a humorous tale about Zlatan Ibrahimovic. In an open conversation where he reflected on his playing days, the 36-year-old was quite laid-back and humorous. The Romanian acknowledged that he had shared locker rooms with some of the top players.

When asked who he believed to be the best player he ever played with, he singled out Zlatan in his response. Prior to telling a nice anecdote about the Big Swede, the attacker, who formerly played for Chelsea, acknowledged that he and Zlatan got along extremely well and frequently shared rooms whenever the Bianconeri played away from the Juventus Stadium.

“Zlatan’s the best,” said Mutu. “When we were teammates at Juventus, we used to sleep in the same room before games. One night, he woke up. Ibra told me: Adi, wake up! I had a nightmare. I dreamed Ronaldo was better than me! He only went back to sleep after I’d told him: No, Zlatan, no! You are the best in the world! Calm down!”

What are Adrian Mutu and Zlatan Ibrahimovic up to?

Ibrahimovic was never at ease until he was regarded as one of the best in the world, according to Mutu, who continued by saying that the striker is one of the few footballers he has known who is more passionate about the sport than he is. The two strikers won two Serie A titles while playing for Juventus from 2004 to 2006; however, those titles were eventually revoked as a result of the Calciopoli scandal.

Before moving to Fiorentina, Mutu scored 7 goals in 33 league games, and Ibrahimovic scored 23 goals in 70 league games before joining rivals Inter Milan. After an 18-year playing career, Mutu retired in 2014. In contrast, Ibrahimovic is still actively playing for the red side of Milan after stints with Manchester United and La Galaxy.
