“I sold Wayne Rooney and Everton got better”- West Ham manager David Moyes makes his intentions clear of not selling Declan Rice this summer
According to reports, West Ham manager David Moyes is confident that they won’t sell Declan Rice before his contract ends in 2024. Rice is on the list of many Premier League clubs including Manchester United but Moyes ended rumors about Rice’s departure anytime soon.
Declan Rice recently rejected West Ham’s third offer of a fresh contract but Rice has other plans as many big clubs want him. Moyes even highlighted that he is valued at 100m pounds as he is in sublime form for both The Hammers and England.
“I sold Wayne Rooney and Everton got better. It doesn’t always mean that things don’t happen. We’ve said before that we’ve got no intention of selling so I don’t know why you keep asking. Unless you’ve got who said it then I can’t say it. We’ve not answered it has us. I’ve said it and I think we have said what we think,” said Moyes.
“We like Dec(Rice) and he’s got three and a half years to go on his contract so I don’t think there is any big panic”, added Moyes.
Declan Rice has been in tremendous form for both West Ham and England and many big clubs are ready to sign the midfielder. He’s been associated with a move away from West Ham as he turns down an offer made by the club to keep him where he is. David Moyes said that he sold Wayne Rooney to Manchester United and Everton performed well since then back in 2004. Rooney became a superstar both for the Red Devils and England national side as he didn’t have the power to stop his move.
West Ham star Declan Rice has been a stand-out player for both club and nation
Declan Rice is on the verge of another highly commendable season for the London-side West Ham United. He appeared 44 times for his club and scored five goals and made four assists and played a crucial part in sending West Ham to the Europa League semifinals.
They went down against Chelsea which ended their hope of the top four race in the Premier League as they currently stand at seventh place. They will next face Frankfurt in the semi-finals of the Europa League on Thursday.
