“I think you’re being f***ing unfair”- When Sir Alex Ferguson reprimanded Gary Neville over the transfer of this Manchester United player
Alex Ferguson for Manchester United
The former Manchester United star Gary Neville reveals a call conversation he had with the former Red Devils coach Sir Alex Ferguson about their amazing goalkeeper David de Gea. Gary Neville had been critical of de Gea in the past, particularly during the beginning of his United career.
Gary Neville disclosed, “Sir Alex rang me once on my comments on David De Gea. Once. It was in the second season of my punditry, so he let the first season go. Do you remember, his first season was a massive struggle, wasn’t it? But in the second season, he started to improve, to the point he became one of the best goalkeepers in the world.“
Sir Alex Ferguson always believed in the talent David de Gea had and with time now it is very much clear about the importance de Gea holds in Manchester United and in the whole football world. De Gea joined Manchester United in 2011 from Spanish team Atletico Madrid.
Neville also added, “Sir Alex rang me and said ‘I got it last year, but I think you’re being f***ing unfair son’.”. Alex completely believed Gary to be wrong in his criticisms and trusted in the talents David de Gea showcased. David de Gea is one of the most loved footballers and has helped Manchester Utd in many ways too.
