“I want Romelu Lukaku to be an important part of the squad”- Thomas Tuchel hints the Chelsea forward won’t be leaving the Blues this summer

In a recent interview, Chelsea coach Tuchel hinted that Romelu Lukaku might not leave next summer as he is a “key player” for the team. The Belgian forward was in talks of exiting the club next season after his poor form and lesser game time, a thing that didn’t help the team in any way.

“I want Romelu Lukaku to be an important part of the squad. Right now, he is a very important part of the squad next season. There are no players about to leave because it is simply not possible. We need to support Lukaku and trust what we do”, Tuchel said about Lukaku’s future.

Chelsea is out of the league title race as they failed to keep up with Liverpool and Manchester City, but they will play Klopp’s side in the FA Cup final. Tuchel’s men had a disappointing season after winning last year’s champions league trophy as they lack consistency.

Thomas Tuchel also claimed that Lukaku is important for his side and has no plans to release him. He believes that Lukaku is a vital player and must be trusted at this phase of time which requires encouragement and support at this level of his career.

Lukaku came back to Chelsea after roaming many clubs like Manchester United, Everton, and Inter Milan and rejoined Chelsea under Tuchel for £97.5m from Inter. He scored 12 times in all competitions but had very few starts this season.

Chelsea will square off against Liverpool in the FA Cup final and might end the season with glory

The West London team, Chelsea, managed by Thomas Tuchel did their best to keep up with the title race pace but eventually ended up winning nothing except the FA cup still in sight.

They are currently at the third spot with 66 points and four games in hand. Earlier, Chelsea was eliminated in the Champions League quarter-final by Real Madrid after they pulled back a brilliant comeback but couldn’t hold on to Benzema’s heroics.
