“I would like to know that too”- Robert Lewandowski’s wife seems in dark too regarding the Pole’s Barcelona move from Bayern Munich
According to reliable German media, Barcelona expects to complete the signing of Robert Lewandowski this week. They are willing to pay Bayern Munich the €50 million fees including add-ons and today could be his final training session with the Bavarian club.
This is huge news for Barcelona if confirmed. They’ve been determined to replace Lionel Messi’s goals since the Argentine left for PSG, and they couldn’t do much better than bring in a striker as lethal as Lewandowski. The Pole has established himself as one of the greatest centre-forwards of all time and would completely change the face of Barcelona’s attack.
Lewandowski, who has 76 goals in 132 games for Poland, joined Bayern from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2013. Since then, he’s won everything there is to win in Bavaria and scored 344 goals in 375 games. He wishes to conclude his career with one final chapter in Spain.
When asked if she and her family would be visiting Barcelona anytime soon, Lewandowski’s wife, Anna, added fuel to the fire on Instagram this afternoon. “I would like to know that too,” she replied confirming she has been left out of the loop with regard to her husband’s transfer situation.
Robert Lewandowski has been desperate to join Barcelona and even admitted he won’t play again for Bayern Munich
Barcelona were originally held up in their pursuit of the 33-year-old due to financial complications, but their imminent £56m swoop of Leeds winger Raphinha suggests the Spanish giants have since managed to free up funds.
Lewandowksi returned to Bayern Munich training on Wednesday having publicly called an end to his career at the Bundesliga club earlier this summer. Despite sheepishly walking out on his own towards the training pitch initially, the striker was later captured smiling alongside the coaching staff.
Whilst on international duty in May, Lewandowski told reporters ‘My era at Bayern is over. I don’t see any possibility to continue playing for this club anymore. Bayern’s a serious club and I believe they won’t keep me, I don’t want to play there anymore. A transfer is the best solution. I hope they don’t stop me.’
