“I’m asking Ajax to sell me”- Antony expresses his wish to leave the Dutch side for a possible move to Manchester United
antony
The Ajax star player and Brazilian, Antony has finally taken out a statement in an interview given to Fabrizio Romano, saying “I’m not asking Ajax to release me, I’m asking Ajax to sell me with the highest bid ever for Eredivisie player”, he further added that he’s been insisting on this since February.
Manchester United had shown their interest in having the Brazilian to their side as his ex-manager and coach Eric Ten Hag wants him at United. The Red Devils have made more than one bid for the Brazilian but were rejected by Ajax, now when he wants out from Ajax, the authority is denying him as the Dutch champions have no intentions of losing their star man, something the 22-year old really unhappy about.
The Brazilian told in the interview that Ajax has rejected his demand of leaving as the team has only five days to replace him. Now Antony can only hope that his desire to leave Ajax will force them into getting a deal done with Manchester United, but Alfred Schreuder’s side will really struggle in finding a replacement for the young Brazilian.
Possible reasons why Antony wants out
The Brazilian youngster has always expressed his wishes to join the Premier League and play the highest level of Football. In everyone’s career, it is a one-time opportunity, for the Ajax star it would be a dream come true to play in Manchester. The player has played for the club enough the time that he has been benched.
Heading towards his prime area of football is quite like everyone’s true passion and not letting that happen would be a sin, especially after when a side like Manchester United had shown interest in having him, he might have been dreaming, but his own club doesn’t want him to go. It is no surprise that Ajax could suffer if the transfer takes place, but that’s how things go about.
Antony is a great player both in the midfield and attacking as well, he knows his style of play is what is needed at United, and having to play in the Premier League is not everyone’s cup of tea. To handle that pressure is serious, but Antony has surely displayed capacity.
