“I’m hoping we can win the ring”- PSG star Kylian Mbappe reveals his favourite NBA team and players while attending the 2022 NBA draft

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe is taking advantage of his time off from the field, and the France international has decided to travel to North America, specifically New York, to attend the NBA Draft.

The French striker, who finally extended to PSG at the end of May, was at the Barclays Center in New York on Thursday evening to see in particular his compatriot Ousmane Dieng being chosen in the eleventh position by New York before being transferred to Oklahoma City.

The 23-year-old spoke with ESPN and was asked about his favourite team, the Los Angeles Lakers, who are undergoing changes after missing the playoffs last season. “Perhaps as far as the Lakers. I believe they will change a lot of themes. I think they’re going to change a lot of things because they changed the coach and now the manager,” Mbappe said. “And I’m hoping we can. Next season, win the ring.”

What advice did Kylian Mbappe give to young players drafted by the NBA franchises?

Kylian Mbappe cited his Nike mate LeBron James and Kevin Durant as his two favorite players. He also gave some advice to young players before being chosen by one of the thirty NBA franchises. “First of all, they have to enjoy the moment,” said the former Monaco prodigy.

“As I said, it only happens once in a lifetime but it’s only the start of something big. They have to work, they know it’s hard in the NBA but I’m confident because if they’re there, it’s because they have a lot of talent,” he added.

Asked about the position he would occupy if he got into basketball, Mbappe remained humble, with a big smile. “I don’t know because I’m not that good at basketball, he laughed. I’m better in the stands watching games and enjoying the moment.”
