“I’m seeing Toni Kroos’s statue instead of Sergio Aguero”- Twitter mocks Manchester City and Aguero after his statue appears like that of Tony Kroos
Manchester City recently unveiled a statue sculpture of their legend Sergio Aguero on the 10th anniversary of the historic goal that handed the side the first-ever Premier League trophy.
The statue was built to honour the Argentine forward who played a big role in their first PL title win in 44 years. Aguero was seen scoring the winner against Manchester United as they lifted their first trophy and to honour the goal the club decided to put a statue beside two other legends of the club, David Silva and Vincent Kompany.
The fans somewhat found the statue to be replicating Toni Kroos as they go wild mocking and joking about the sculpture after Real Madrid knocked them out of the champions league semifinal.
The statue was made of thousand of welding pieces of galvanised steel but the sculpture doesn’t seem to be replicating Sergio Aguero from various angles, rather it gives a feel of Kroos’ style of shouting and celebrating. The German midfielder sarcastically would be happy enough to have a statue in front of a club he never featured.
Here are some reactions from the fans as they go wild on Twitter after the statue was revealed:
The statue is seemed to be receiving some attention as fans make memes on the statue’s stature and feel the action of the model is a joke and dishonour for the Argentine star. Fans feel the number of resources and technology they possess, the sculpture should have been made with more care and with proper detailing which matches Sergio Aguero and his traits. They feel that Aguero wouldn’t be happy seeing the statue and might feel disappointed seeing the number of tweets being made mocking the work.
