The social media admin of La Liga team Cadiz Club de Football Posted a cheeky post on Twitter trolling the Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The tweet read: “It’s impossible to finish the season without losing to Real Madrid and FC Barcelona”. The caption was accompanied by a picture of Sponge Bob smiling in a quirky manner. Cadiz ended the La Liga campaign without registering a loss from the league leaders throughout the season.

Cadiz CF ends their La Liga 2021-22 campaign without losing to FC Barcelona and Real Madrid

They faced FC Barcelona in late September at their home and the match ended in a scoreless draw. The return fixture at the Nou Camp was won by Cadiz 1-0. 

On the other hand, Cadiz locked horns with the La Liga champions in mid-December at the Bernabeu. The game ended in a draw with no side scoring. When Real Madrid visited Cadiz in mid-May, The 34-time champions failed to register a win against the Andalusia side. They drew 1-1. 

Cadiz ended their La Liga season in the 17th place and narrowly avoided relegation. They stayed in the Spanish first division by just one point finishing at 39 points. Granada got relegated, securing the 18th place finish with 38 points, just one lesser than Cadiz.

Avoiding defeats to the two greatest clubs of the world surely helped their relegation race. One wrong step could have certainly taken them to the Spanish second division. 

The top scorer of the club this season was Alvaro Negredo who netted seven times in 34 appearances this season.
