According to Spanish journalist Joan Fontes, Lionel Messi‘s position at Barcelona has been set by manager Xavi should he rejoin the La Liga team for the upcoming season. Messi’s current contract with Paris Saint-Germain, which expires in the summer of, is nearing its end. The Argentine forward is in high demand, and Major League Soccer club Inter Miami is apparently optimistic of landing a contract.

Barcelona is still in the running to sign the attacker, and they are eager to have him return to the Nou Camp. If he comes back to Barca, Xavi wants to utilize him on the right wing to provide some creativity and dribbling ability to the team’s attack.
