Hansi Flick got the chance to meet two of the biggest names in world football last night, as he was invited into the Real Madrid team bus after their match with RB Leipzig. The Ex-Bayern manager was given a warm welcome by Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti and midfielder Toni Kroos, who were both keen to chat with their German counterpart.

Real Madrid, the defending Champions League champion, suffered their first loss of the year as RB Leipzig increased their chances of moving on to the round of 16. Before France attacker Christopher Nkunku extended the advantage, Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol gave the hosts the lead.

Although Timo Werner, an ex-Chelsea forward, ensured that RB Leipzig would win, Vinicius Jr. helped cut the gap. With nine points, the German team is in second place in Group F, one point behind group leaders Real and three points ahead of Shakhtar Donetsk, whom they will play in their last group game against next week, needing a draw to secure a top-two finish.

In the penultimate game of the group round, the European champions were defeated by the German team after falling down 2-0 after 20 minutes. The season-long winning streak for Real Madrid has now ended.

With a well-earned three points, RB Leipzig brought the European champions tumbling back to earth. Vinicius Junior scored and Rodrygo converted a last-second penalty, but it was insufficient to overcome a German team that was very than up to the task.

Timo Werner, Christopher Nkunku, and Josko Gvardiol were on target to shock Carlo Ancelotti’s team, who were simply too uninspired and flat for a significant portion of this game. With just one match remaining, the Spanish champions are still in first place in the group. They are now trailing Leipzig by a point, so they will have to fight it out with them for the top spot in Group F.
