At a Sunday morning open training session, Sadio Mane interacted with almost 1,000 fans by signing autographs, taking selfies, and posing for pictures. The former Liverpool player is well known for his extraordinary generosity. He joined Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich this summer in a £35 million deal.

Sadio Mane changed Bambali, a hamlet in southern Senegal, where he was raised, in a number of ways. Along with making large financial contributions to help the isolated village, such as a donation of £500,000 for a new hospital, he also provided funding for the construction of a £200,000 secondary school.

Additionally, the little Mane paid for a mosque and a sports arena, erected a hospital for £455,000, and gave financial aid to the area’s 2,000 citizens. Mane is also credited with distributing computers and athletic apparel, offering 4G internet, and overseeing the construction of a new gas station and post office.

This year, Mane saw a boyhood acquaintance he hadn’t seen in 17 years again, and the man, who is now a police officer, was reportedly invited to watch him play at Anfield.

He gained the respect of almost 1,000 admirers on Sunday morning when he made time to speak with every one of them. The Senegalese international met fans at the Sabener Strabe facility for about 105 minutes, according to the German daily BILD, and even cracked jokes with those in attendance at Sunday’s open training session.

Additionally, Mane discussed his true aspirations in life in a conversation with the Ghanaian publication Nsemwoha.

“Why would I want ten Ferraris, 20 diamond watches, or two planes? What will these objects do for me and for the world?” he said.

“I was hungry, and I had to work in the field; I survived hard times, played football barefooted, I did not have an education and many other things, but today with what I earn thanks to football, I can help my people.

“I built schools, a stadium, we provide clothes, shoes, food for people who are in extreme poverty. In addition, I give 70 euros per month to all people in a very poor region of Senegal which contributes to their family economy.

“I do not need to display luxury cars, luxury homes, trips and even planes. I prefer that my people receive a little of what life has given me.”
