On Thursday, Neymar had surgery on his left knee for injuries he sustained in the World Cup Qualifying match against Uruguay. The surgery was performed in Brazil by Dr. Rodrigo Lasmar, the team’s surgeon.

Currently, there’s no set date for the Al-Hilal winger’s return after surgery. However, reports suggest he might recover in time for the 2024 Copa America in the USA. The injury occurred during the 44th minute of the match against Uruguay at the Centenario Stadium. He fell and grabbed his left knee, and players from both teams gathered around him.

Neymar’s injury is bad news for his club, Al-Hilal. They paid a lot for him this summer, €90 million, to get him from PSG. He’s only played five games for them, with one goal and five assists. His serious injury might keep him out for the whole season. This will hurt Al-Hilal’s chances in the Saudi Pro League and the AFC Champions League.

Meanwhile, sitting first in the League, Al-Hilal face their next challenge in the form of a league fixture against Al-Fateh, followed by a trip to India where they will take on Mumbai City in the AFC Champions League, beating the club 6-0 in their reverse fixture.
