Is Erling Haaland playing in Bayern Munich v Manchester City Champions League clash?
Erling Haaland will play in the match against Bayern Munich

Since the departure of Sergio Aguero, the all-time top scorer for Manchester City, the Blues played their following seasons mostly without a striker. The arrival of Erling Haaland to fill the Argentine’s shoes has worked wonders for the club. He has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League, taking the English division by storm.
He now has 40 goals in 33 appearances in both Premier League and Champions League combined, becoming the top scorer of both competitions this season. However, a sustained groin injury caused concerns and he was forced to withdraw from the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers. Julian Alvarez filled his space for the time being and it was unsure if he would recover back in time for the UCL clash.
Astonishingly, after defying all odds, he came back with a bang scoring a brace while just returning from his injury. He was taken off in the 70th minute to not aggravate the risks further. However, it is understood that he is now fully fit and will be inserted back into the squad where he will hope to make an impact against the visitors in the Champions League quarters.
With the team clicking and the Norwegian in scintillating form, Pep Guardiola will take this opportunity to fill the void of a UCL title which they haven’t been able to get their hands into despite financial backing and a cluster of world-class players. They will want to win the match given the fact it is their home ground as well where they face Bayern Munich.
Alan Shearer changes Erling Haaland prediction and admits he was wrong about Man City star

Alan Shearer has backed Erling Haaland to score 60 goals this season after admitting he underestimated the Norwegian star. Haaland has been a revelation since signing for Man City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and on Saturday struck twice in his side’s 4-1 win over Southampton. That took his league tally for the season to 30, and his total in all competitions to 44.
Match of the Day pundit Shearer, who leads the all-time Premier League goalscoring charts with 260, is resigned to the notion that the star will easily break the current single-season record of 34, jointly shared by the former England captain and Andy Cole. But having previously tipped Haaland to ‘only’ hit 40 in the 2022/23 campaign, he’s now revised his prediction.
“At a minimum, City has another 12 fixtures this season and potentially up to four more on top,” said Shearer. “If he can stay fit, Haaland will obliterate the Premier League record I share with Andy Cole of 34 goals in a single season and at his current rate of averages in all competitions, with 44 in 38 appearances, he will storm past 50.”
