After spending seven years at Paris Saint-Germain, Di Maria became a free agent this summer. With the upcoming season, he has decided to start working for head coach Massimiliano Allegri. At Juventus, the 34-year-old will don the No. 22 jersey. After joining Manchester United in 2014 for a then-British record sum, Di Maria was acquired by PSG in 2015.

The disturbing nature of his time in Manchester prevented him from reaching the levels that were anticipated of him. He had previously played 190 times for Real Madrid, recording 84 assists and scoring 34 goals while developing a strong bond with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Di Maria’s form later came back after leaving United during a seven-year stint at PSG.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president, commented before his final game for PSG against Metz in the previous campaign: “He has shown an unfailing commitment to defend our colors.“
