“It shows the character”- Manchester United star backs Erik ten Hag amidst recent rift with Cristiano Ronaldo
Christian Eriksen and Cristiano Ronaldo
After earning a hard-fought draw at Chelsea, Christian Eriksen declared that Erik ten Hag and Manchester United are “on the right path.” The midfielder was upbeat following Casemiro’s game-winning header in the 93rd minute at Stamford Bridge amid the Cristiano Ronaldo controversy.
It was a crucial display of energy and character after Ronaldo was dropped from the team for the match on Sunday because he refused to replace another player in the midweek victory against Tottenham.
Eriksen stated ‘It does feel like a big relief compared to the six minutes before with the penalty against, it was a big blow,’ ‘But, obviously, it shows the character and what a nice header.
”I think that’s what the fans want to go to the stadium for, that’s what we as players want to achieve,”
”We want to entertain and score goals and celebrate with the fans. Like you said, it was perfect timing to score at that end, to celebrate with the fans.”

Manchester United rallied to secure a point against Chelsea
In Saturday’s key Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester United, late drama with two goals in seven minutes resulted in a 1-1 draw. Chelsea maintained their position as the fourth-place team in the standings, while United continued to hold down fifth place with 20 points after 11 games, one point behind Chelsea.
Cristiano Ronaldo, a forward for Manchester United, was absent from their lineup for their Premier League match at Chelsea on Saturday.
Though Chelsea played better in the second half, United was the superior team for the majority of the game. They were fortunate to earn a penalty, but after giving it up late, they revealed their weakness at the back.
The prolonged United push at the end was effective, and Casemiro scored a beautiful header, but given Ten Hag’s team’s dominance in midfield in the first half, more chances should have been created and converted.
