“I’ve no idea if the whole country is supporting us”- Liverpool’s boss Jurgen Klopp laughs off Pep Guardiola’s claims

In a recent interview, Pep Guardiola claimed that everybody in the country wants Liverpool to win the Premier League title while speaking on the status quo in football. Liverpool’s manager, Jurgen Klopp, in return, commented that he doesn’t understand why Guardiola claimed Liverpool is expected to win as he might regret his words at the end of the season.

The support for the Merseyside in the country leaves Guardiola to accept that nobody wants to see his side as the champion, rather everybody wants Klopp’s side to lift the cup. “One week ago, everyone in this country supports Liverpool, the media and everyone,” he told in an interview”, said Guardiola.

Jurgen Klopp was asked in an interview ahead of their game against Aston Villa about his thoughts about Pep’s comments. He laughed and stated that everyone in Liverpool wants that the cup should come to the Merseyside but only 50% except the Everton fans want it to happen.

He further added that it’s important to win cups and to make the fans happy whether everybody wants it or not but everyone in the dressing rooms wants it.

“I live in Liverpool so yes, here, a lot of people want us to win the league,” said Klopp. “That’s true but even here it’s probably only 50 percent. I’ve no idea if the whole country is supporting us, I don’t know that. It’s not the feeling I get when we go to other places and play there. It’s actually the opposite but maybe he knows more about it than me”, added the German.

Liverpool and Manchester City- Who is most likely to win the Premier League 2021/22 title?

Manchester City is probably the favorite for the title as Liverpool lags three points behind them. Pep’s side also has a good goal-scoring record to Liverpool’s total goals scored this season, which might be needed if the climax turns its direction.

Klopp will look to win his remaining games dominatingly but if Manchester City doesn’t drop points then Pep’s side will be seen lifting the trophy for the second consecutive time.
