Manchester City embarrassed the 14 times UCL Champions Real Madrid with a win of 4-0 in Etihad on Tuesday in the return leg of the Champions League semifinals. Man City players controlled the game till the end in a stunning way and one of their midfielder Jack Grealish also created a record while facing Dani Carvajal.

Real Madrid on the other hand didn’t have any plan B and was shattered by Guardiola’s tactics. The whites were below average in the whole match, just watching the City players scoring goals. The number 20 of Man City was able to take his team to a 2-0 lead before the end of the first half.

In the second half Madrid still trying to get in the game, Manuel Akanji scored the third goal and shattered all the hopes of Los Blancos of reaching the finals. To add insult to serious injury, Julian Alvarez scored a fourth goal, just after coming on, in the extra time and led Man City to the finals of the Champions League.

The English midfielder on the other side was not on the scoresheet but was enjoying his time getting past Dani Carvajal during the whole match. Grealish was seen involved in the match the entire time. The 27-year-old midfielder has now created more chances than any other player in this UCL season. The player has created 35 chances and created a record of his name. Jack Grealish now owns the record for most chances created by an English player in a single Champions League campaign.

In the post-match interview, Jack Grealish quoted “Unbelievable. Just to be in this moment, it’s so nice. I don’t think a lot of teams will do that to Real Madrid. I’m playing well and feeling confident, but I still feel I can get more goals and assists. It’s not all about that though because I bring more than that. For me, it’s a dream come true. I’m buzzing.”

The embarrassment that Manchester City players caused Real Madrid is no new now. After that match, everyone was amazed that City dominated the game and didn’t let Madrid even take shots.

The stats of Man City are just out of the roof. In the first half, City had a ball possession of 72% which is 44% higher compared to Madrid’s possession which was just 28%. The city was able to take 13 shots out of which 5 were on target. And the whites were just able to take 1 shot in the entire half. City passed the ball 352 times in the first half and Madrid was only able to pass 137 times.

The second half was a little better for Madrid. The team took six shots out of which three were on target. City took three shots all on target. Madrid in the second half passed the ball 284 times and City passed the ball 266 times.
