Manchester City star and former Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish is certainly one of the most hated and ridiculed players in the Premier League. The 28-year-old made the move to Man City back in 2021 on a £100 million fee, making him the second-most expensive player in the competition.

Despite his performances earning him a regular spot in Pep Guardiola‘s XI, several fans constantly criticize the player, with stadiums often ringing with boos as the No.10 comes on. While Grealish certainty isn’t one to take criticism to heart, the forward, in a recent interview said that he is still puzzled as to why the opposition ‘boos’ him constantly.

I always wonder why opposition fans boo me. My mum asks about it as well! I actually don't know. Every away ground I go to, I get booed and I'm not sure entirely why. I try and take it as a positive or as a compliment.

The player was booed by fans after he came on against Arsenal in the 61st minute.

Manchester City to replace Jack Grealish with Arsenal target!

It would be ‘unfair’ to label £100 million-man Jack Grealish‘s time at Manchester City as a failure. The 28-year-old, in his three years at the club has lifted a Champions League and two Premier League titles. Even though his trophy cabinet excels that of what many players achieve throughout their entire careers, many are of the opinion that Grealish has ‘underperformed’.

The weekend clash against Arsenal featured more of the same as Pep Guardiola tore into the Englishman at full-time. Cameras captured the City boss aggressively pointing out his errors in front of the home crowd. Injuries and the subsequent arrival of Jeremy Doku has further sidelined Grealish and his prominence to Guardiola’s squad. Following reports that the club are looking to offload the £100 million-man, rumors surrounding his potential replacement have also surfaced.

It has been reported that the club are looking to sign Pedro Neto, the 24-year-old Wolves winger. However, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also in the race for the player. Despite the player putting up impressive numbers for his club, Neto has missed over 100 games since his arrival from Lazio in 2019. His last appearance for the club came on 9th March against Fulham.
