Jack Grealish was asked about his previous season while speaking at an England National Football Team press conference. The winger reminisced about his time during his second season with the Manchester Club, where he ended up winning everything.
“It was the best season of my career,” Grealish remarked, who was vital in guiding Manchester City to a treble success. With him, the team enjoyed a magnificent win rate, and he was crucial in carrying the ball into the final third for the team and constantly creating chances.
“We had the best team, the best manager, and the best players,” he added, beaming with pride about his involvement in the historic achievement of the Cityzens. He also developed a partnership with Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.
The Englishman assisted his first goal for the club to Haaland when he finished with a bicycle kick against Southampton. Grealish was also essential in scoring vital goals. From the winner against title challengers Arsenal, to scoring against rivals Liverpool.
However, he has had a slow start during this new season. Struggling with muscle injuries, and has yet to break into the starting lineup. Manchester City also signed Jeremy Doku to increase competition for the wingers at the club after the departure of club legend Riyad Mahrez.
Jack Grealish’s poster boy celebration during Manchester City’s treble parade
Many players are often captured epically, celebrating their success, but Jack Grealish took it to a new level. Grealish was captured multiple times, being the heart of Manchester City’s treble celebrations. From drinking up to the brim to posing like a relieved man. He didn’t know that pose would go on to be viral like it did.
Whether it was gulping beers or celebrating with stewards on the streets of Manchester, he certainly set a predicament that even professional footballers deserve to enjoy themselves after a successful season.
Some cherishing moments also involved him begging Bernardo Silva to stay at the club and eventually signing a contract extension despite his multiple rumors to Spain.
However, Pep Guardiola has not been lenient on his winger after his antics last season. He has signed another highly talented player in Jeremy Doku, who is already giving Grealish a tough competition for the starting spot.
