Jadon Sancho‘s exile at Manchester United is seemingly coming to an end. As per the latest reports, the club has hit up an agreement with Sancho’s former employer, Borussia Dortmund. As it stands, Sancho is set to join the Bundesliga club in January on a six-month loan deal. While the consensus at the club is that Sancho ‘must’ leave, a surprising inclusion in his clause calls for fans to believe that United aren’t done with him just yet.
Manchester United and Jadon Sancho still feel like a match made in heaven gone wrong. The Englishman was brought to Old Trafford on a monumental £73 million fee back in 2021. He currently earns around £300K per week. Surprisingly, BVB only have to pay a ‘meagre’ £3.4 million as his loan fee. It is also understood that Dortmund will pay a portion of his wages during his time at Dortmund.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Manchester United’s new ‘owner’ believes that Sancho’s current market value is too low. For the following reason, the businessman has not included an option to buy in Sancho’s loan deal.
Such a measure will prevent BVB from getting back their star for a cheap price. Sancho hasn’t played for United since his bust-up with Erik ten Hag in August.
Manchester United and Jim Ratcliffe face Casemiro ‘dilemma’
Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS have a gargantuan task at hand as the January transfer window is well underway. It is understood that the new minority ownership is looking to make a ‘squad overhaul’ to trim and sort out Manchester United’s wage bill. The club is looking at Brazilian midfielder Casemiro‘s departure as an easy way to cut down on the wage expenses.
Even though United boss Erik ten Hag expressed his desire to keep Casemiro at the club, Ratcliffe and co. may feel otherwise. The star was brought in from Real Madrid on a £60 million deal in 2022. Even though he impressed in his initial season, an unfortunate ankle injury and subsequent spells of poor form have kept him on the sidelines. As of now, Casemiro has returned to the training ground.
Another interesting understanding is that United will have to pay a total of £30 million if they are to let Casemiro run down his contract at the club. In addition to Casemiro, Donny van de Beek and Sergio Reguilon have also been identified as potential departures from the club. While the former has agreed to join Eintracht Frankfurt on a permanent deal, Reguilon’s loan was cut short. The defender has returned to Tottenham Hotspur.
