Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho jokingly teased Portuguese midfielder Bruno Fernandes during their Carabao Cup celebration on February 26. Fernandes could easily have created United’s third goal during the match against Newcastle United, as he ignored Sancho and made an attempt on goal, which was saved by the goalkeeper. Sancho, who did not look happy after the missed chance, could not resist teasing Fernandes during the celebrations.
Newcastle United pushed the Red Devils into their own half, the theme of the game and Ten Hag’s side was able to launch a counterattack as Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho and Scott McTominay all charged towards The Magpies’ goal. Bruno had a clear chance to square the ball to Sancho from the right side, who was open in the box. Instead, the United number eight went on himself, and his attempt was saved by former Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.
After the full-time, Sancho was filming United’s celebrations, and pointed out Bruno Fernandez’s selfishness, as he jokingly said to the Portuguese while on camera, “Next time you pass huh?” Fernandes acknowledged Sancho’s mockery, as he said, “Next time, next time yeah.” Casemiro, who opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the Carabao Cup final, was furious with Fernandes on the missed chance, and went straight to him after the final whistle, gesturing about the open chance.
