The incident between Jadon Sancho and Erik ten Hag appears to be getting worse by the minute. The Premier League heavyweights parted ways with the Englishman as he left to join his former club Borussia Dortmund on loan. Recently, former manager Ralf Ragnick revealed ‘concerning’ information regarding Sancho’s behavior at the club. Fans have taken it as an opportunity to hit out against current manager Erik ten Hag.
Despite a £73 million price tag, the player failed to live up to his expectations at the club. A discordance with the Dutchman in an incident during training saw Sancho become exiled from the first team. His unwillingness to apologize and Ten Hag’s decision to not ‘pardon’ the youngster saw him leave on loan to Dortmund after an extended absence from the team. However, Ragnick opined that Sancho was a ‘calm and pleasant guy’ during his time at the club.
The former’s comments have given fans reason to think that the Dutchman may be in the wrong for the Jadon Sancho ‘situation’. Ralf Ragnick said,
Sancho? In the 6 months I had him, there wasn’t a single discipline problem... he was a calm and pleasant guy.
With that being said, fans are now targeting the current manager, and claiming that he may have been in the wrong for Sancho’s ‘departure’.
Fans react to Ralf Ragnick’s evaluation of Jadon Sancho’s character
Immediately after news of Ragnick’s comments hit social media, fans and followers of the club have taken to the comments. Many blamed Ten Hag for sending a top talent like Sancho away from United for a ‘meaningless’ spat that happened months ago. Others said that Ragnick’s testimony proves that Sancho was not at fault. Fans were also criticizing those who felt that Ten Hag was not at fault in the entire incident.
Fans also dug up a video of Sancho repeatedly using the word ‘sorry’ multiple times in a video after arriving at Borussia Dortmund. Comments like ‘cook the bald fraud’ and ‘Ten Hag must be fuming right now’ were the other popular comments. Others celebrated his ‘escape’ from United and said that he was finally free. The timeline was witness to a lot of Ten Hag hate following Sancho’s departure.
Here are some of the fans’ reactions:
Many pointed fingers at Erik ten Hag for failing to utilize a top talent like Sancho, even after paying such a high fee for his services. Fans also noticed a pattern of the Dutchman coming to clashes with players in the past.
Sancho ended up leaving United for his unwillingness to ‘apologize’ to Ten Hag. He is currently at Dortmund and will spend his time there till the end of the 2023/24 season.
