Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal is still in a “better position than Tottenham and Manchester United” in the Premier League despite a loss against Crystal Palace, advises them not to panic under pressure

In their most recent Premier League game, Arsenal suffered a major setback losing 3-0 to Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, courtesy of  Jean-Philippe Mateta, Jordan Ayew, and Wilfried Zaha’s goals in the 16th, 24th, 74th minutes, bagging a deserved win for the Eagles.

In the post-match analysis on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher along with his co-hosts empathized with the gunners saying, “It’s a bad night for Arsenal, the way they’ve lost, not just the three points.”

However, he also insisted that the Gunners shouldn’t panic as they have more crucial matches ahead.

But I think it’s very important that they don’t panic and there’s no hysteria. They’re still in a really good position, a better position than Tottenham and Manchester United, and they’ve just won five away games on the bounce. So, you’re talking 15 out of 18 points away from home, they’d have taken that when the six games were there away from home,” added the former Liverpool defender.

Though Jamie Carragher suggested a no panic approach, the former Liverpool man does believe that Arsenal’s current performance was sub-par in addition to other bad performances witnessed this season, which already helped their opponents’ fans make a good fortune following the betting tips at SportyTrader which helps people bet on their favourite teams, be it any sport.

This first half reminded me of the second half at Everton. It’s probably happened four or five times this season, where the sort of naivety, the lack of experience, they just got found wanting. There’s definitely the quality there, but I think Arsenal fans are going to have to accept that they are going to have bumps in the road,” Carragher continued.

Arsenal would be in a toe-to-toe battle with Tottenham in contention for the Champions League spot and the road ahead may be a hard one to pass through now.

Carragher also pointed out that between Tottenham and Arsenal, the Gunners have a much harder set of fixtures ahead. He stressed that although Arsenal does have a game in hand, it is against their London rivals, Chelsea, who are currently two places above them in the points table.

Arsenal have got that game in hand, but you look at that game in hand, it’s actually Chelsea away. It will be difficult to see Arsenal picking up too much from that game. Maybe it is really level-pegging,” concluded the 44-year-old.

What are the future possibilities for Arsenal?

Arsenal is currently fifth in the premier league standings and level on points with fourth-placed Tottenham, who are ahead on goal difference.

If they wish to seal the champions league spot they may have to take that hard road and prevent a defeat against Chelsea and other strong opponents in the upcoming fixtures. If they seal a top-4 finish, it will be after six years that the Gunners will qualify for the Champions League.
