Leicester City veteran footballer Jamie Vardy opens up to talkSport about Leicester City’s relegation from the Premier League. The English footballer said it would be the “biggest achievement” of his career at this moment is to save Leicester City from relegation.
The former English International has been an integral part of Leicester City. He has been the axle to take the Foxes to win the Premier League back in 2015/16. But Jamie Vardy currently sees his club as on the verge of getting relegated.
Jamie Vardy has been associated with the Foxes since 2012. After ten years he has been with the club in all its shades. “I love this club. It’s hurting me on a personal level a real lot. I’ve got to be one that stands up and be accounted for.” The player wants to help the club in all ways possible.
The Leicester number nine has scored only three goals in 34 matches. The Foxes were also able to win only eight games while losing 21 and drawing the rest. The Foxes have three matches in hand and expect to collect as many points as possible.
Three Leicester City players who may leave the club in the upcoming transfer window.
Leicester City is in big trouble and is facing the danger of relegation. With reports saying that Jamie Vardy may play his last season in the club, there are also a series of players who would like to end their contracts with the Foxes. Leicester City would also find it difficult to persuade the player after relegation as there would be a drop in the wages of the player.
The first on the list goes to Youri Tielemans. The Belgian footballer may see an exit in the upcoming summer transfer window upon relegation. The player although has two years left in the contract, will look for an exit. The player will target clubs, especially Newcastle United who would be playing in the Champions League in the next season.
Next in line is Ayoze Perez. The Spaniard who plays on a loan in Real Betis has been an important player for the La Liga team. The midfielder has made a contribution to their position in the league table. It would be easier for the Spanish team to get the player on a permanent contract in the next transfer window.
Jannik Vestergaard is looking for an exit with zero opportunity in the Premier League team. The former Southampton player still now doesn’t have clubs willing to purchase him. Reports say that the player is willing to end the contract with the Foxes after their poor performance this season.
