In a recent development regarding the Negreira Case, information has come to light suggesting that La Liga President Javier Tebas has provided false information which had been then used to ‘harm’ FC Barcelona. The allegations made against Tebas claim that a letter containing false information against FC Barcelona was sent by him.
The Negreira Case has been an ongoing investigation for the past 7 months involving FC Barcelona. Further, the case is an investigation to see into the club’s Sporting Corruption. The case came to light after evidence surfaced regarding the relationship between FCB and Enriquez Negreira, the then Vice President of the Technical Committee of Referees.
Now, the case seems to have taken an interesting turn as reports have surfaced highlighting Tebas’ malicious attempts to down Barcelona’s name. Reportedly La Liga President sent a letter to the Prosecutor’s office, which included a handwritten note by Josep Contreras, former Barca director. The letter included names- Roman Abogado, Josep Maria, and Rosell– referring to the club’s former executives. Roman Gomez Ponti‘s name in particular- the then head of FCB’s former legal operations. However, upon researching, the names provided were those of employees and contacts of the Contreras family.
Upon further research, it is also determined that the information was in fact lettered 2 decades ago. While it was earlier revealed that Barcelona did benefit from Negreira’s case Real Madrid and ‘others’ were harmed. But that is not the case. Tebas’ official statement or response to the recent developments is pending.
FC Barcelona UNIMPRESSED with new signing
According to reports, Barcelona’s coach Xavi has been left unimpressed by the club’s Latest signing. After the Blaugranas signed two big-name players, Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix, Xavi is not convinced with the latter. Following initial training sessions, the FCB Head Coach feels that the player’s commitment and intensity in training were not up to the mark.
Even though club President Joan Laporta was keen on signing the Atletico Madrid man throughout the summer transfer window, it was well known that the Spanish coach was not interested in the player and opposed his signing. Xavi believed that the player was excessive to the club’s needs and did not require a player of his profile.
Even though Xavi praised both the ‘Joaos’ after the victory against Osasuna, reports suggest that the coach is set to have a conversation with Felix after he returns from International Duty.
