John Stones recently opened up about meeting Andres Iniesta in an interview. The Manchester City defender met the Ex-Barcelona man during this preseason while working out in a gym. The treble winner says meeting Iniesta was a pleasant surprise, and he didn’t plan the meeting. Stones had posted a picture of him and Iniesta on his social media.
Stones said that he found Iniesta working out at a gym near him. He went over to the Spanish legend, greeted him with a “Good Morning,” and then proceeded to chat. Stones met Iniesta and his son at the gym. He called meeting him to be a wonderful experience.
“We ended up all having a picture. What a lovely man, a legend of the game. Honestly, it was an absolute pleasure to speak to him.” Stones said. He also described it as Iniesta’s son who thought of the idea to take a picture. Stones did not ask for a photo but focused on talking to the World Cup winner.
Stones is glad that he eventually got to take a picture with him. Once Iniesta’s son gave the idea for a photo, Stones just wanted to seize the moment and happily agreed to it. He also revealed that he did not ask Iniesta for any advice. He also later praised the ex-Barcelona man and praised his footballing ability.
Andres Iniesta agrees personal terms with Inter Miami
Inter Miami is making progress in signing Lionel Messi’s old teammates. The side has already snapped Sergio Busquets and announced Jordi Alba as their latest signing. Now the south beach team is negotiating with Andres Iniesta. He is currently a free agent.
Iniesta recently bid farewell to his club, Vissel Kobe, after playing five years for them in Japan. Reports suggest that the Spaniard could be reunited with Messi. Iniesta has reportedly agreed personal terms with Inter Miami CF.
Miami is making preparations for including the player in the squad. They recently requested an additional overseas slot from the MLS. Rumors suggest this is done to accommodate Iniesta in the Inter Miami team. If the move takes place, Miami will have four ex-Barcelona players.
