One of the key players of the Real Madrid squad has decided to leave the club. As per reports Marco Asensio will not renew his contract with Los Blancos and would leave the club as a free agent.

Asensio joined Madrid from Mallorca in 2014 and has 197 appearances and has scored 37 goals till now. In the current season, the Spanish player only started 15 games.

Lack of game time under Carlo Ancelotti is the key reason why Asensio doesn’t want to continue with the club. The Spanish player wants to play in the Euro 2024 but due to lack of game time, he was not included in the squad of Euro Qualifiers.

Many reports have stated that Asensio would make a move to Aston Villa in this summer transfer window. As the manager of the club, Unai Emery is desperate to sign the 27-year-old player.

Unai has a project that is suitable for Asensio and has already started to convince the player. So in the next match against Athletic Club the Spanish player will say goodbye to the fans and his teammates.
