Reports in France have suggested the Ligue 1 giants have made contact with the Roma manager and that he is in advanced negotiations toward reaching a deal. The 60-year-old is preparing his side for the first leg of their Europa League semi-final with Bayer Leverkusen on Thursday night.
Jose Mourinho was quizzed by reporters whether he has held talks with PSG about replacing their current manager, and he replied, “If they called, they didn’t find me. I’ve never spoken to them.” Mourinho was appointed as Roma manager in May 2021 and led them to success in the Europa Conference League last season.
His contract is set to expire in 2024 and according to reports PSG director Luis Campos has spoken with the two-time Champions League winner’s agent about a possible arrival this summer. They also stated that negotiations are ‘advanced’ between Campos and Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes while claiming that the Roma coach is also interested in the PSG project.

Jose Mourinho back to Chelsea?
Mourinho has told reporters when asked about his future: “I don’t talk to friends, comrades, journalists. If a few months ago our CEO Pietro Berardi said he was sure I would stay, that is his interpretation. If this time Mr. Zazzaroni said what he said is an interpretation of him, I’m not talking to anyone. The situation is clear, from a contractual point of view I still have one year on my contract. Football is football, sometimes contracts aren’t the most important thing. All good, all calm, the next one is always the most important game.”
Roma sporting director Walter Sabatini is confident that Mourinho will see out the final year of his contract in Rome. According to reports Walter Sabatini said: “Those who have hired Mourinho know perfectly his behavior. However, it is difficult to say that he wants to leave. For now, however, he is achieving results. Of course, it will depend on how the season ends, but Roma has the chance of reaching the final of the Europa League. Mourinho has done a great job. Let’s not forget the injuries.”
