On Monday, the Italian league reduced 10 points of Juventus as a punishment for showing false accounting. This punishment led the Italian giants to slip down to seventh position below Roma. However, this didn’t help Jose Mourinho’s Roma much in qualifying for the Champions League next season.
Jose Mourinho in an interview told that his squad would need more of a miracle to play for the Champions League. The manager failed to win his last match against Salernitana on Monday.
The manager had to face a draw against the team in 15th position. Antonio Candreva scored the opening goal and Roma equalized the score just before halftime. In the second half, Boulaye Dia scored a goal in the 54th minute. And seven minutes before the full-time Roma managed to level up the score with the help of Nemanja Matic.
However, only if Jose Mourinho pulled a victory in the last match he might have got his chance in the Champions League next season. Currently, Mourinho’s squad is four points away from AC Milan to reach the top four.
Jose Mourinho a recent interview told, “Who said the Champions League was an objective for Roma? I certainly didn’t, I always try to be honest, I don’t like to sell hot air, I never said Roma was a candidate for the Champions League places.”
He further added, “We can write history and want to continue doing it, but qualifying for the Champions League when spending € 7 million (£6m) on the transfer market is more than history, more than a miracle. It’s like Jesus Christ coming to Rome and having a walk around the Vatican.”

Is Jose Mourinho to PSG a done deal?
Paris Saint-German has confirmed that Christophe Galtier will not continue in the next season. Currently, PSG is going through a lot of nuisance because Lionel Messi is not interested in extending his contract, Neymar Jr is not willing to continue with the club, and till now PSG has not won a single Champions League title.
Some of the blame also goes on the manager’s head. As a replacement for Galtier, the club is looking forward to signing Jose Mourinho. PSG are in constant talks with the Portuguese manager but as of now, nothing is confirmed. Mourinho has not confirmed that he is leaving Roma and joining PSG.
