Jurgen Klopp compares Jude Bellingham to a ‘Ferrari,’ hints that Liverpool can’t ‘afford’ him
Bellingham is considered to be one of Europe's hottest properties
Jurgen Klopp commented on Liverpool‘s pursuit to sign Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham in the summer. The Englishman was considered to be the Reds top priority in the summer before reports of the club pulling out of the race to sign him surfaced.
Speaking about Bellingham, Klopp stated: “I don’t know why we talk about things we theoretically can’t have. If a child says he wants a Ferrari for Christmas, you say we can’t afford it and you can’t drive!” However, the German was hopeful for pulling off a surprise when the season ends, stating: “What we need and what we want, we try absolutely everything to go and get it,” possibly indicating that Liverpool’s chase to sign the midfielder is far from over.
Bellingham is one of Europe’s hottest properties with multiple top clubs lining up hoping to sign him up in the summer. Clubs such as Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and PSG are considered favorites to get the 19 year old’s signature before the start of next season.

Jude Bellingham reportedly told his Borussia Dortmund teammates that he wishes to play for Real Madrid. The Los Blancos are considered to be one of the favorites to sign the Englishman in the summer, who is one of the most wanted men in Europe.
It is believed that Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane is the midfielder’s idol. Moreover, Bellingham’s father reportedly met the club’s recruitment chief Juni Calafat which further added to the speculation.
Real Madrid is seemingly in pole position to sign the 19-year-old after Liverpool pulled out of the race and Bellingham ruled out possible moves to Europe’s top clubs. They are currently second placed in La Liga. They are also in the final and the quarterfinals of the Copa Del Rey and the Champions League, respectively.
