Members of the South Korean idol group ‘STAYC’, recently performed in Dallas, Texas but had a mix-up with their attire after two members were caught donning the blue colours of the Scottish side, Rangers F.C. rather than those of the local baseball team, Texas Rangers.

Debuting in November of 2020, STAYC performed at The Factory in Deep Ellum in Dallas, Texas as part of their 1st-ever World Tour “TEENFRESH”. While many artists in the past have donned the colours of the city’s local sports team, STAYC members seemed to have had a mix-up as the group – composed of six members – wore the jersey of Rangers F.C from the 90s rather than of the city’s local baseball team. The jersey is believed to be from the Rangers 1996/97 season where the club won the Scottish League Cup against Hearts at Celtic Park.

Fans on ‘X’ have responded well to the innocent mistake with many claiming Rangers is about to take over South Korea. Other fans online have decided to buy the idol’s group album as a sign of support for the members wearing their club’s jersey. While STAYC continues their world tour- which will see them at Wembley on November 8th – Rangers fans will face the very team – around the same week – that helped make this jersey iconic, Hearts on the 5th of November, once again in the Scottish League Cup semi-final.

With their club making headlines for reasons, unexplainable to them, Rangers fans will give their attention to Europe as they take on Sparta Prague in the UEFA Europa League.

The team from Glasgow won their opening fixture in the tournament against Real Betis after a 67th-minute goal by Abdallah Sima was enough to separate the two sides at the Ibrox Stadium. The result was important as the Spanish side are favourites to make it out of the group. Rangers, however, were unable to carry the momentum from their opening fixture after a shocking loss to Cyprus side, Aris Limassol, which put the club in 3rd place in Group C. Fans of Rangers however, will take hope to qualify from the group due to their new managerial appointment in Philippe Clement.

Rangers face a tough game ahead of them as they fly to the Czech Republic where they will face the current group leaders, Sparta Prague.
