Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola recently updated that their star midfielder, Kevin De Bruyne, had recently recurred his hamstring injury. The Belgian maestro sustained an injury for City during the UCL final against Milan. Sadly he had the same problem against Burnley on matchday one. Guardiola sighed and confirmed that they had not confirmed the player’s surgery.

The man shared on his Instagram that he had surgery for his hamstring injury recently. As De Bruyne begins his road to recovery, many fans wish him the best wishes. They will be eager to see his magic on the pitch soon. “The news after the Burnley game was a really big blow for me physically and mentally,” confessed De Bruyne as he has shared his fair share of body problems as a footballer.

“Now the surgery is done, I’m ready to heal my body and return to work soon. Thank you all for the support?,” he further added. The player posted pictures in crutches, smiling, having accepted this as a normal course of his life as a professional. City are set to be without their most creative player for the first course of the season. New signing Mateo Kovacic will already be expected to step up.

Earlier, the treble winners had versatile players like Ilkay Gundogan or David Silva fill in the gaps. Pep Guardiola will try out Phil Foden in midfield. De Bruyne will be out for at least four months because of an injury. Even Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva have been unavailable for City’s recent fixtures. This pushes the question if the European Champions would have to turn to the transfer market to strengthen their team again.

Kevin De Bruyne had joined Chelsea as a young midfielder hoping to enter the scene. His academy coaches always rated him highly. Unfortunately, the sun never shone for De Bruyne in London as Jose Mourinho cast him out after just four outings. He left England first time as a ‘Chelsea Reject.‘ As football would have it, De Bruyne would leave Chelsea, win the Bundesliga Footballer Of The Year, and return to the Premier League.

This time, he didn’t just return but arrived in a royal form. He scores goals against his former club 80% of the time they face and is always a threat. The Belgian has scored free-kicks, bottom corners and created multiple chances against Chelsea, wreaking havoc in the entire league. De Bruyne, the only player not signed by Guardiola, has a strong reputation in the Premier League. He was recently nominated for the UEFA Men’s Player of The Year.

With multiple Premier League trophies, F.A. Cups, Carabao Cups, Community Shields, and now a UCL and being the former Player of the Season. Before retiring, he is already considered a potential Hall of Famer. De Bruyne receives praise for his vision and skill in finding open spaces. He had the most assists last season, thanks to his great partnership with striker Erling Haaland.
