Kevin De Bruyne put up a performance of a lifetime as Manchester City’s efforts to win the Premier League continues. The Belgian midfielder was awarded the Player of the Match award as he scored twice and assisted once to beat Crystal Palace 4-2.
Already dropping points the week before at home to title rivals Arsenal, City needed a win at Selhurst Park to continue their title run. Expecting to win the match, they were hit by a roadblock in the 3rd minute as Jean-Philippe Mateta scored.

Trailing right away, City put up one of their most dominating performances with Kevin De Bruyne leading the way. He took only 13 minutes to bring up his first goal, scoring a world-class goal. Receiving the ball from the left wing, the midfielder cut in and from a tight angle curled it into the right corner, managing to slot it past Dean Henderson.
Rico Lewis scored the goal that got them the lead, with a right-footed shot from the center of the box. Erling Haaland was served an easy tap-in thanks to De Bruyne just 20 minutes later, as the defending champions doubled their lead.
The final City goal was scored by the Belgian star, which was also his 100th goal for the Cityzens. While being on the left wing, he was given the ball by Jack Grealish. The City captain took a shot on goal with his left foot, once again beating Henderson. The Belgian was taken off the field in the 93rd minute, and was adjudged as the Player of the Match.
Fans praise Kevin De Bruyne for masterclass
Many fans praised the Belgian superstar for his incredible performance. Some called him the greatest player to grace the Premier League, while some called him the best since Frank Lampard. One Palace fan was tired of how good Kevin De Bruyne was against his team.

With this win, City jumped to 2nd place, above Arsenal by two points and tied on points with Liverpool. This position could be short lived, as the Gunners travel to Amex Stadium to play Brighton and Hove Albion. After that, all eyes will be shifted to Liverpool as they play rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
