Lionel Messi dragged Inter Miami to a late draw against LA Galaxy in the MLS. The game which saw either side share a point on Sunday was also witness to a crossover of sorts between football and celebrities. As Messi led his team onto the pitch, holding his hand, alongside him was Saint West, son of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. While his mother and American media personality Kim was quick to share her excitement on social media, several fans were not of the same opinion.

Kim Kardashian has taken a keen interest in the sport in recent months. From sporting football attire on various occasions to sharing pictures of her son in a Jude Bellingham jersey, Kim has been making headlines in the footballing community. Kim and Saint also took center stage as they announced the venues of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Saint also made it known that his dream is to represent the USMNT in the World Cup. The American media personality and socialite shared a video of her son making his way to the pitch on Twitter. She captioned it by saying that he was living the ‘absolute dream’.

While his mother shared her excitement, fans were of a contrasting opinion. Many were opposed to the fact that money outweighs merit and the comment section of the clip did not hide it either.

Is Saint West living the absolute dream? While Kim Kardashian was certainly excited at her son’s opportunity to take to the pitch with Lionel Messi, fans certainly weren’t of the same opinion. A fan censured Kim for sharing the caption incorrectly and wanted to change it to how money can buy dreams. Others wanted a kid who was more ‘deserving’ of the same to be in place of Saint West.

A fan bluntly asked how much it cost Kim to arrange the opportunity for her child while another wanted people to stop having a go at the celebrity. Some were of the opinion that there was nothing wrong in someone using their resources to make their child happy. Even LA Galaxy couldn’t resist commenting on Kim’s post, with their comment hailing Saint as a ‘G’.

As for the game itself, Lionel Messi’s men were trailing for the major part of the second half, with the home side taking the lead in the 75th minute. Messi and Jordi Alba combined in the final minutes of injury time to salvage a point for the Herons. After a win in their season opener and a draw against LA, Miami now find themselves top of the Eastern Conference.
