“Kings of Europe”- Twitter goes wild as Real Madrid beats Liverpool 1-0 in France to claim their 14th Champions League title
Real Madrid wins their 14th UEFA Champions League title as Vincinus Jr. scored the only goal of the match to hand them the trophy against Liverpool for the second time after the 2017/18 season. Liverpool had the upper hand in the game after a huge number of attempts which was canceled out by the Man of the Moment, Thibaut Courtois as he made 9 crucial saves which is the highest by any goalkeeper in the UCL final.
Klopp’s men did everything they could do to score goals but they were denied by the Belgian. Vinicus Jr. scored the only goal from a pass from Federico Valverde in the 59th minute which helped Real Madrid win their 8th consecutive final of the champions league.
Let’s have a look at the Twitter reactions after the UCL 2021/22 ends with Real Madrid winning the cup:
Thibaut Courtois has been the man who stood like a pillar in front of the Real Madrid goal making a record nine saves from Liverpool’s attempts which helped them to lift the cup after four years. He disallowed efforts from Salah who had several shots on goal but didn’t end up scoring because of the Belgian who made some excellent saves.
Real Madrid vs Liverpool UCL 2021/22 Final- As it Happened
Vinicius Jr. makes the difference in the final against Liverpool as Klopp’s men tried harder and harder but couldn’t find a way to the goal as Courtois made some great saves to deny Liverpool’s strikers. In the first half, a controversial goal was disallowed from Benzema as he was found offside but to many fans, it seemed onside. Had the goal stood, it would have added to Benzema’s fifteen goals this season.
Liverpool had the most attempts as the strikers dominated the game but Real Madrid’s defenders were absolutely phenomenal in their role after making more than four times the attempts made by the Los Blancos.
Madrid didn’t have many chances but they capitalize on their chances and scored from the very few opportunities they have created. Real Madrid goes on to win their 14th title as they remain unbeaten in their last eight champions league finals.
