KSI, an internet personality, has made headlines all over media tabloids by comparing himself to Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana. In the yearly Sidemen vs. Youtube All-Star football match which ended in Sidemen FC’s 8-5 win, KSI’s comical own goal has gained attention from the fans all over.
The whole match and especially KSI’s own goal became widespread. However, the United fans did not like it when KSI- an Arsenal fan- took a dig at Andre Onana. When a SPORTbible presenter asked him after the match if he was better than Onana, he said, “You know what, with his current form and his shaky hands, yes, I am.”
In previous games, he usually played as an outfield player. But this time, before his upcoming fight against Tommy Fury, he decided to try being a goalkeeper. Further, he promised before the game that he would keep a clean sheet but KSI couldn’t manage that. He even scored an unintentionally funny own goal.
Taking the Arsenal-United banter even further he added, “Thank you Onana for letting in that Rice beauty.” It was a dig at Manchester United, who lost 3-1 to Arsenal at the Emirates, just before the international break. It was an excellent comeback from the Gunners, who scored in injury time to win it in front of the home crowd.
KSI saves ChrisMD’s thunderbolt at the Charity Match
In the thrilling Sidemen vs. YouTube All-Star game, KSI showcased his skills by saving a powerful shot from ChrisMD from 30 yards. ChrisMD’s thunderbolt toward the goal and KSI’s exceptional save left the fans in awe. It was one of the few moments in the game that gave a glimpse of top-tier football.
Fans watching online and in the stadium were caught off-guard by KSI’s agility. ChrisMD was left with his head in his hands in disbelief. Although, KSI was having fun for the majority of the game- running upfield as a GK, rolling over the goal-line for an own goal, etc. But he stepped up for this particular save.
The Sidemen charity game will forever be an anticipated event as it promises more exciting and entertaining moments from people’s favorite social media influencers. Additionally, the charitable cause for which the event is conducted adds to its appeal.
